My Hopes and Prayers are with those in London...
Terrorist bombings hit London...

I don't even have the words. Not only for this tragedy, but for all of the killings of innocents to make some point.

I'm with you on this, hon.

If anyone is interested, london_070705 has been set up for sharing information.

Thanks for the info, sweetie!

::sigh:: Sure is a good thing we're fighting our war on terror isn't it? 'Cause we've done such a good job decreasing deadly terrorist attacks in the world...
Markboywondermark on July 7th, 2005 04:11 pm (UTC)
That's the thing about it...it's practically impossible to 'fight' terrorists!
Dan the gnomebrewergnome on July 7th, 2005 04:19 pm (UTC)
Sure it is. Just not like this.

You have to fight terrorists by removing their recruiting options.

Feed people, help people feel safe, help give people HOPE and they'll a) not want to blow up the people helping them, and b) won't want to blow anything up.

These are the actions of desperate people with no hope, being directed by hateful people who exploit that fear and desperation. You can't remove all of the latter, but you can alleviate the former.

Attacking them, adding the the disaster and the pain and the chaos is NOT going to help.
Markboywondermark on July 7th, 2005 04:30 pm (UTC)
Exactly, Dan...that's why I said 'fight'! This administration is breeding terrorists instead of removing them!

I almost cried when Rove said:

After 9/11 conservatives prepared to defeat our enemies

Liberals prepared to understand them.

::sigh:: Yes, that's exactly the point. Liberals have actually READ Sun Tzu's "Art of War" which clearly says many times that if you do not understand your enemy (or yourself) you've ALREADY lost.

Makes so much more since than..."Kill em all and let God sort em out!", doesn't it?!
Dan the gnomebrewergnome on July 7th, 2005 05:24 pm (UTC)
'Specially since we CAN'T kill them all.
Markboywondermark on July 7th, 2005 05:50 pm (UTC)
Tell Dubya that!

I can't wrap my head around things like this. Killing people who can't change laws isn't going to make a country change its stance on whatever issue the terrorists don't agree with. Non-negotiation with terrorists is national policy for most first- and second-world nations.

The world is never going to get better while people try to solve things with senseless violence. It just enforces current prejudices, doesn't change anything. *sigh*

You're right on all counts there, Peter! It has to make you think...don't these terrorists know this? If so, is it just their point to get some senseless satisfaction from the killings?
