My day with the Kids...
Yesterday, My sis and the kids, Griffin and Gwen, went with my mom and I shopping. We went to a craft store and I bought TONS of things...glue gun, colored rocks, multicolored beads and twine, multicolored fake rhinestones and feathers, realistic fake vines and leaves and flowers, many bags of fake geckoes, snakes, lizards, etc...well that's just the tip of the iceberg, but you get the idea!
Today, Me sis and the kids went hiking in the woods in one of the State Parks and searched for the perfect walking sticks. It was a beautiful day and I LOVE the woods! We trekked down many paths until we came to the river and then turned and trekked back up! My niece, Gweni, was SOOO cute...she was collecting so many sticks and rocks...LOL! She was going to make magic wands too, she explained. Griffin said he was having the best time ever! I loved hearing that, of course! The woods were so cool...so many different trees, interesting shapes, so many giant rocks and steps of natural stone. I took pics, of course...I will post when I get them developed.
After we got back to sis' house, we laid out a tarp and poured everything out in piles and Uncle Mark worked the sander for things that needed sanding...and sis worked the glue gun. Lil Gweni was quick to start...my lil Diva was not interested in the woodsy approach...no...for her, she painted her walking stick pink and white, inserted fake rhinestones in each and every notch, had butterflies and flowers glued on and finnished with pink and lavender boa-like scrunchies wound around it as a handle.
Griffin's walking stick had tiger-striped material as the handle, rocks and geckoes all over the multicolored painted surface and beads hanging from the top.
My sis went with a combo Native American/Wiccan theme and mine was a combo Fantasy Ranger/Green Man creation. We had such a good time! The kids are itching to go hiking with our new Hiking Sticks (OH...they are making one for their daddy too).
So...that was my day and it was so much fun...now I'm having fun talking with my incredible CyberHubby! I feel like such a lucky guy!!

Well...kids can make a taunt out of ANY name if they really want to! Do you and your siblings go by your names or do you go by middle names, initials...or what?
