STAR WARS ON TV!
I'M SURE MANY OF YOU ALREADY KNEW THIS, BUT FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T...

Filmmaker George Lucas Working On Star Wars Spin-Off TV Series

Star Wars creator George Lucas has confirmed that he is currently working on a television live action series based on one of his Star Wars characters. Each episode will be 1 hour in length and in Season 1, Lucas will be in the director's chair.

When asked last October about a possible TV show revolving around the Star Wars theme Lucas responded, "Ultimately, I'm going to probably move it into television...I'm sort of preserving the feature film part for what has happened and never go there again, but I can go off into various offshoots and things".

The TV series will focus on events between 'Revenge of the Sith' and the original Star Wars movies and Lucas alluded to the possibility that the series could focus on some characters from the original trilogy.

The Star Wars saga debuted in 1977 with 'Star Wars: A New Hope' and ultimately produced 6 feature films ending with the currently running, 'Episode III - Revenge of The Sith' which is the third of the prequel series.

No specific date has been given for an estimated release of the television series.

**I HOPE THAT THE CHARACTERS IN THE SERIES WILL BE HAN SOLO AND CHEWBACCA! I'D LOVE TO SEE HOW HAN STARTED OUT AND SEE THE INITIAL PARTNERSHIP WITH CHEWY!! :)

From what I've read the characters will be unrelated to the characters we know and love. They will be the sideline characters. Someone like Wedge would likely be the most famous you could get.

Even were Lucas to change his mind, doing Han would be a dumb move. Ain't no one who can be a young Harrison.

Awwwwww...'dumb move'? Now you've hurt my widdle feelings! LOL!

There are so many possibilities with the mythos he's created.

I didn't say you couldn't hope for it, I said that it wouldn't be a wise move for Lucas as there would be a large contingent completely unable to stomach anyone trying to be our dear Mr. Ford.

Many many possibilities, from the lesser known Jedi to the fighter pilots or the spice runners of the time...

Well...I loved 'The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles', but...now that you mention it, I really didn't think of Sean Patrick Flannery as a young Harrison Ford!

I would like a Han type character, I think!

I was not a fan of TYIJC but that's a matter of taste I suppose. I'd rather see Lucas pick another spice runner/trader rather than Han. But that's also 'cause I'm sure he'd screw up the canon yet more.

Yepper...you ARE a die hard FanBoy! :)

Part of what I enjoy about storytelling is the world in which it exists, the continuity of any given character's life is a part of that.

So yes, I guess you could say I'm a die hard fanboy, as I am for any world I immerse myself in.

I know what you're saying! I like to escape to some of these alternate worlds myself and anything that seems wrong or contradicts itself can make it less easy to believe.

Han has always been my most favorite and I don't think that is inconsistent with Lucas looking back to his younger years. I am right with you Mark .. it would be a great show or episode.

Sounds as though this is a trial balloon for Lucas to get a bunch of sentiment on what people want and will in the end get.

Hollywood at it's best is able to bring forth excellent new actors especially in a situation like this. It wouldn't take a thing away from Harrison's fans many of which are familiar with his work after SW.

No one would be trying to be Mr.Ford. They would be younger Mr.Han!

I'm sure that they will, as always, find some talented unknowns to cast in this possible new series!
Like you, Miller, Han has always been my favorite! I would love to see young Han beginning his career as a 'pirate'!
As I said to Dan, I loved 'The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles' and I never really thought of Sean Patrick Flannery as a young Harrison!

(BTW, hugs and kisses to you)

Yepper...that's the one! I love history, so that may be one thing (besides Sean) that attracted me to the show!

I think George Lucas has a fourth Indiana Jones movie in the works!
