A family in Oregon found this fawn on their front steps and took this photo. The white spots on the steps are apple blossom petals.

As you know, deer naturally hide their fawns and go away for awhile. The fawns have no odor yet, and naturally stay absolutely still.

Isn't this an amazing photograph??

A great job of camouflage! The fawn stayed there all morning, (they live in Bend, OR), and the mama came to get it after 4-5 hours.

Kudos to the people that left the fawn alone, knowing mom would be back.

I have to agree, Anne! It's funny...when I look at deer, I get all choked up.

That is awesome, deer and their fawn are some of the most beautiful of animals in my opinion.

I think so too, HB! I could never be a hunter!

thats really cute. yea good for them. one time we found a snake under a small log. it was on its back and looked dead. i stoped for a second and was like "wait i know what its doing" i fliped it over with a stick and he went into defencive mode. it was so cute. unfortunatly me and my friend matt were there with some stoners. when they asked what we were looking at we said a snake. they were all "A SNAKE, I WANA SEE!" but i fliped the log carfully back over him and when they came over me and matt said he had slitherd off. knowing the stoners would probably have tryed to mess with it.

Yeah...some folks think it's okay to mess with any animal that isn't cute and fuzzy!

how totally cute....

i love watching deer, down here around the university i go to, they congregate on the main lawn, 15 at a time, and they aren't afraid of people, since they know they won't be hunted there.

Cool...there are deer that wander the University near here too!
